Check how low and late he is doing this bottom turn, deep in the trough a fraction of a second before the lip contacts the face, and it looks as if he has got a bit of chandelier to bust through in a moment. Incredible surfing, the nuances almost too fast for the eye.

Amazingly, Kieren exited the water right in front of me, I did not have to move more than a few inches to get this shot. Notice his duct taped wrist, one of the injuries that Kieren picked up during the competition. That is Taj Burrow giving props to Kieren’s board on the left.
