Kahala Wedding

14Mar13

Polina and Scott at a Kahala estate. The story of their wedding license application was featured in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser HERE. I submitted a few shots and the one below was used on the front section jump. Shot with a Nikon D3 and a Nikkor 50mm f/2 H.C converted to Ai. I’ve surfed for years […]

Dennis Pang holds my brand new keel fin fish, 5 foot nine inches of speed. This was back in 2004 or 2005, I still have this board although a cracked fin box has limited the use of this board the last couple of years. The color is a blue resin tint on the bottom and […]

Once again, early to rise at the 2012 Pipe Masters Slater eating it on wave #2 of his warmup. The gathered crowd gasps. Beautiful wipeout. Vans World Cup 2012 winner Adam Melling briefly connects before making a dues payment at Pipe. Bruce Irons, on a very short quad. Dane Reynolds: Very impressed with his surfing […]

Rabbits

03Nov12

Rabbit in the full moon light. Hope everyone had a fun Halloween. Walked out from imbibing a beverage at my neighbor’s and saw this view, ran back to my place to grab a tripod, a Nikon D3 and Nikkor AF 16mm f/2.8 Fisheye.

A while…

27Oct12

Yes, its been a while since I’ve posted, and even longer since I posted one of Lexi. This was I think in 2004, shot on AGFA APX 100 processed in Rodinal 1:50, and what I think is the Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 Ai, the lighting is tungsten hot lamps. Printed on Ilford WT paper.

Breath

13Sep12

Kay Kay takes a deep breath high atop the mountain. She was back in town from New York and needed an update. Shot with a Nikon D3 with a Nikkor Ai 25-50mm f/4 zoom which is about the only zoom I ever use.

Kalei, modeling the Pualani line of sheer panties. Shot with the Rollei 6008i and Carl Zeiss 80mm f/2.8 Planar, PQ-S, this was a polaroid using the Fuji FB-100b instant film pulled at the start of the shoot.

smoldering

14Aug12

Tricia, dropping those bedroom eyes on me. Shot with a Nikon D3, Nikkor 50mm f/2 H.C, SB-900 flash off camera bounced off an umbrella, just a quick and dirty set-up after the sunset.

Time Warp

11Aug12

Jen, 1989 One aspect I find interesting about being an Artist, and specifically being a photographer is that the work created can reflect what or who is around me. Those influences, and my response to that external stimuli, can often create my own desire or push to make an image, in that moment of that […]

Sister

21Jul12

My sister, Lilia, having a cup of coffee at the old homestead beach house in Leucadia, California, shot in 1989 from what I can tell. Maybe 1988. Shot with an Olympus OM-2s, my first camera, with the standard Zuiko 50mm f/1.8, on Kodak Tri-X, probably processed in Ilford ID-11 Plus. Taken from a contact sheet […]
